New perchlorate MRLs coming into force on July, 1 in the EU

According to annex of EU Regulation, new  perchlorate maximum residue limits (MRL) will apply in fruits and vegetables, tea, herbs and babyfood.

These new limits will be in force on July, 1.

New perchlorate limits (mg of perchlorate / kg of commodity)

Cucurbits and kale 0.10 mg/kg

Leafy vegetables and fresh herbs 0.50 mg/kg

Rest of vegetables and fresh fruit 0.05 mg/kg

Tea, infusions (including dry fruit infusions) 0.75 mg/kg

Milky baby food 0.01 mg/kg

Baby food (cereal based) 0.01 mg/kg

Rest of baby food 0.02 mg/kg
